I read about the "Fire, Wind and Water" -Contest. I am not taking part (It would be embarrassing with this drawing of water), but I thought about those "Elements" and how I would combine them or depict them as mythical figures. This is my result.

Size: Letter
Coloured Pencils on grey board.

This seems to be my grey-board-period :)

The only embarassment would be that of the competition...that you smoked. The whole elements thing has been done SO MUCH that by now it's worse than a cliche, but this is both original and technically masterful. The anatomy, the richness of color, everything. It's gorgeous.

:) You made my day with that comment. I wasn't quite sure if I should draw an Angel, for they're a kind of motiv I'd normally avoid. I am not exactly a sweet-fantasy-women addict ;). But I tried to make her a little different, full of life and a little reckless with her risky playing in the water. And the golden Salmon makes it a little less trashy I hope.

This is awesome...I can't believe that's colored pencil. And water looks abosolutely incredible. I like the contrast beetween the greenish water and the golden fish--very well done.

Beautiful drawing, you have a lovely style:)
Very good. Nice subject matter and composure. I actually really like the way your have done the water.

Just because it is impossible now - doesn't mean it always will be.

More than a little. :D That's what I like so much about this piece, it deals with subject matter that's been done countless times, but remains completely and wonderfully unique. I know what you mean about "things I normally avoid," but you definitely pulled it off!

Which contest is it? Is there a link? You SHOULD participate...the water looks fantastic! I have seen water like that during a storm...it was all choppy and foamy like that. I think you really did a nice job. Submit it!

I want to die like my grandmother died, peacefully in her sleep...not screaming like the passengers in her car.
